PROTASIS® Substation Automation System (SAS) is a complete and comprehensive solution for the protection, control and monitoring of the primary equipment in each substation. The system is delivered fully assembled and configured to allow control & protection of all substation components.

PROTASIS® SAS solves several critical problems in electrical networks, including enhancing the reliability and efficiency of power transmission and distribution by enabling real-time monitoring and control of substation equipment. It addresses issues such as delayed fault detection and response, which can lead to prolonged outages and equipment damage, by quickly identifying and isolating faults.

SAS also reduces operational costs through automation of routine tasks, minimizing the need for manual intervention and maintenance. Characteristics

Real-time monitoring and control of substation equipment such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, power transformers, on load tap changers (OLTC), and other auxiliary systems, such as AC and/or DC power supply systems.

Collection and analysis of data from various devices within the substation to ensure optimal performance and quick fault detection.

Implementation of protection & control interlocking schemes to isolate faulty sections of the network and prevent potentially hazardous operations, thereby minimizing equipment damage and increasing personnel safety.

Facilitates communication between different devices within the substation and with central control centers, often using protocols like IEC 61850, IEC-60870-5-101 & 104.

Integration of SAS with the substation SCADA system allowing operators to manage substations through a user-friendly interface.
