Founder, CEO & Managing Director

Vasilis Georgiou was born in Athens in 1966. He holds a BEng in Electrical Engineering, an MBA, and an MSc in Management of Energy Systems.
In his professional career he developed his expertise in strategic management positions such as business development, project management, strategic design, organizational development, and transformation. His career includes roles at diverse SMEs and international companies within the fields of electrical energy and telecommunications. Since 2002, he has served as the President and Managing Director of PROTASIS SA, being the driving force behind the company's vision and strategy, guiding its growth and success.
As a founder and shareholder of the company, he is highly engaged in the company’s continued success, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of its field.

Ilias Milis

Founder and Shareholder

Ilias Milis obtained his Diploma in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 1969. He joined the Public Power Corporation (PPC) of Greece in 1975, eventually becoming the Head of the Operation Studies Section (Load Flow & Protection Coordination). In 1999, he transitioned to the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO), where he served as Head of the System Operations Department - System Security Section.
He is one of the founders and key shareholders of PROTASIS, bringing a wealth of technical expertise to the organization. As a senior corporate advisor, he actively participates in the company’s daily operations, offering strategic guidance and technical insights. With a strong background in power system analysis, protection systems and planning, with emphasis on production, transmission and distribution systems both in Greece and abroad, he has been instrumental in developing the company’s core technologies and driving innovation.

Dimitris Tsakiris

Dimitris Tsakiris received his Diploma in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 1969.
He began his professional journey in 1972 with the Public Power Corporation of Greece, where he served as a Power System Protection and Control Engineer until 2002.
He is one of the founding members of PROTASIS, bringing extensive experience in designing and commissioning protection schemes for industrial facilities. His guidance and expertise have positioned PROTASIS as a leader in its field, ensuring that the company’s products and services meet the highest standards of quality and performance. His technical knowledge continues to be a key asset in the company’s ongoing growth and success.

George Arvanitis joined PROTASIS in 2008 and since 2024 he is the Commercial Director, driving the company’s commercial strategy and operations. Previously he served as the Head of the Systems Integration Division, focusing on the integration of Intelligent Electronic Devices, OT cybersecurity, development of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), SCADA Systems, and Power Management Systems (PMS).
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computers Engineering with specialization in Energy Systems and a Master in Engineering for Energy Production and Management, both from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). George Arvanitis is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2005.

Human Resources Director

Christina Athanasouli became the Human Resources Director at PROTASIS in 2022, bringing more than 20 years of HR experience to the role. Her expertise encompasses talent acquisition, employee relations, HR policies that align with company goals and legal requirements, and HR transformation. Christina is dedicated to cultivating a positive workplace culture and enhancing employee well-being and professional growth.
She holds an MSc in Human Resources Management from the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Petros Katsikas

Technical Director

Dr. Petros Katsikas joined PROTASIS in 2005, and he has been the Technical Director since 2022. He received his MSc and PhD in Electrical Power Systems Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 1998 and 2003, respectively. He has also participated as a co-author in a large number of scientific publications and served as a keynote speaker in conferences and symposia.
His professional and educational skills, along with multiannual working experience, focus on power system protection and control engineering, automation systems design, static and dynamic security assessment studies, and consulting. He has been a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 1999.

Dimitris Sotiriou, EMBA MSc, is the Digital Transformation & Operations Director of PROTASIS, since 2023. Part of the senior management team, he is the key person responsible for ensuring that our company always operates seamlessly and effectively, while overseeing the successful implementation of our Digital Transformation journey.
He is a passionate, strategic and dedicated senior professional with a strong capacity for making things happen, offering targeted business solutions. His wide professional and academic experience varies within different sectors and markets, allowing him to provide out-of-the-box business solutions across PROTASIS.

Finance Director

Athanasios Vathis is an accomplished finance professional with over 30 years of experience in financial management and strategic planning, serving as Finance Director at PROTASIS. He specializes in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, driving fiscal efficiency and growth.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with specialization in Accounting, by the Athens University of Economics and Business and he is a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece.

Head of Sales Division

Dimitris Chourmousis joined PROTASIS in 2024 as Head of Sales for the Domestic Business Division. He holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
Before this role, he gained extensive experience in major Greek EPC companies, overseeing electromechanical projects in Greece and abroad, and advancing to roles in project management and tendering/sales for power transmission & distribution, and infrastructure sectors. Dimitris is dedicated to tailoring sales strategies to meet client needs and fostering a collaborative, results-oriented culture within his team.

Vassilis Dimas

Head of Project Management Division

Vassilis Dimas is the Head of Project Management Division. He has received the diploma of Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology, from the University of Patras, and he has more than 25 years of professional experience as Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical Leader and Manager in the Oil & Gas Industry, working for major EPC companies and for facilities built mainly in Greece, Libya, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Today he is heading a wide range of PM operations, such as coordination of operations for the technical support agreements, project management, quality assurance & control, cost control, change management, managing stakeholder communications and reporting.

Aggelos Goritsas joined PROTASIS in 2009 and currently serves as the Head of the Power Engineering & Solutions Division, leading the teams of Protection & Control Applications, Electromechanical Studies & Engineering and Maintenance Testing & Commissioning.
He holds a diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Throughout his career at PROTASIS, he has significantly contributed to the analysis, development, and implementation of projects related to Substation Automation Systems, Protection & Control Systems, and the testing of both Primary and Secondary Equipment. Currently, he is actively involved in developing algorithms for photovoltaic parks and energy storage systems. Since 2009, Aggelos has been a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.

Evi Katogoudis holds a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Patras University, MSc from Glasgow Caledonian University and an MBA from the University of Leicester. She brings over 30 years of experience in management consulting, with a proven track record of overseeing large-scale projects. Her expertise includes extensive experience in tendering, contracting and procurement budgeting and administration, particularly within the infrastructure and power sectors.
Currently as Head of International Business Division at PROTASIS, she is associated with multiple projects in EU, Jordan, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Libya. Her role at PROTASIS involves spearheading new business services and overseeing client relationships, focusing on building and maintaining trust.

Dionysis Papapaschalis joined PROTASIS in 2020 as an Account Manager, and currently serves as the Head of the Presales Division. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens and brings over 15 years of experience in the energy sector.
During his time at PROTASIS, Dionysis has developed extensive expertise in managing client relationships and driving business growth. His strong managerial skills enable him to effectively lead teams and tailor solutions to meet diverse client needs. He is committed to fostering collaboration and delivering exceptional service, ensuring that PROTASIS remains a trusted partner in the energy sector.

George Rizopoulos has accumulated over 40 years of international experience in Electrical Power Systems and Studies, working as a Consultant and Engineering Manager in the Electricity and Oil & Gas Industry, providing technical expertise to TSOs and DNOs worldwide. He has worked primarily in UK and Germany with leading power engineering and consulting companies on major electrical power system and energy projects in both developing and liberalized energy markets in the UK, USA, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Currently he is the Head of PROTASIS’ Power Systems Consulting & Studies Division. He is a Fellow of the IET, Senior Member of the IEEE and Member of CIGRE.

Irini Vavanou joined the PROTASIS Accounting department in 2016, and she is currently the Head of Financial Controlling & Treasury Division, bringing over seven years of financial expertise to the role. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Hellenic Open University, and her role ensures the financial health and growth of the organization.
With a commitment to continuous improvement, Irini plays a pivotal role in aligning financial strategies with PROTASIS's overall business objectives.

Chrysa Zouli leads the Marketing & Communication Division with a robust background in business development, technical sales and marketing, renewable energy, and strategic management. She holds a Diploma in Physics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UOA) and a Postgraduate Specialization Diploma in Energy Generation & Management from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
Before joining PROTASIS in 2021, she held leadership roles in the energy sector, where she successfully developed and executed strategic business plans, expanded market reach, and built strong relationships with key stakeholders. Her leadership is marked by a commitment to excellence, fostering a collaborative environment, and a passion for sustainable development.
