High-end solutions and services

Advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is an innovative two-way communication network designed to gather comprehensive metering data across a utility's service area. This system enables real-time, on-demand interactions with metering endpoints, facilitating efficient data collection and management.

By implementing AMI, utilities can streamline their operations, reduce costs, and enhance the quality of service provided to consumers, while consumers gain greater control over their energy usage and costs.

AMI is a vital element of smart grid systems and plays a key role in intelligent energy management. For instance, it empowers electric utility providers to analyze energy consumption trends, facilitates automated meter readings, and enhances data collection capabilities.

Benefits
AMI offers numerous benefits for both utilities and consumers:

  • Automated Meter Reading
  • Reduced Operational Costs
  • Accurate Billing
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Enhanced Service Quality
  • Improved Reliability

The future of energy management

Meter data management (MDM) is a system used by utilities to collect, store, and analyze data from smart meters and other metering devices. MDM systems are crucial for managing the vast amounts of data generated by AMI and ensure data's accuracy, accessibility, and usage for a variety of applications.

These systems facilitate better decision-making, improved customer engagement, and efficient grid operations. MDM plays a pivotal role in enabling utilities' transition towards more reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy grids.

MDM systems offer a wide range of benefits for utilities, consumers, and the overall energy grid.

  • Data Centralization
  • Enhanced Data Analytics
  • Operational Efficiency
  • Improved Customer Service

PROTASIS has developed a complete energy and water consumption telemetering system that assures the exact measurement of water consumption and the safe data transfer towards the management software. The proposed solution satisfies the requirement for recording consumed energy, in compliance with ISO Standard 50001.

The Water Consumption Telemetering System we design and build, is based on “smart” water meters and it provides the irrigation service with the ability to receive measurements remotely and continuously, detect problems and identify leaks, offering better supervision of the distribution network. Alternatively, a drive-by metering system can be materialized, causing significant decrease in the time needed for measurements.

Precision metering for accurate invoicing

Solution Components

  • Smart water meter: we offer “smart” water meters with ultrasound technology, for absolute accuracy, with a top metrological function. The telemetering of traditional water meters is also an option, if they have the necessary infrastructure, through an additional communication module.
  • Telecommunication Infrastructure: it includes transmission and communication devices where needed, as well as the necessary data network that secures the transmission of information into the management application.
  • Central Control Station: it is comprised of the necessary software and hardware devices, that perform the collection and processing of the information received by the water meters.

Benefits

  • Monitoring of leaks
  • Optimum network operation
  • Water resources savings
  • Adopting a more equitable invoicing policy for consumers, based on real evidence and taking into account factors such as seasonality and night charges.
  • Increased consumer satisfaction
  • Multiple economic benefits, such as drastic decrease of the operational costs through a more rationalized network and decrease of mobilization expenses through the automated collection of measurements and indications by the “smart water meters”.

In recent years, the structure and connectivity of energy networks have undergone significant changes. The expansion of these networks has elevated the role of electricity meters, making them essential to the management and control of energy systems.

The deployment of these multi-energy and multi-utility solutions enables the integration of data from different meters. As a result, electricity meters function as central hubs, transferring the gathered information through a shared infrastructure. By consolidating communication resources, investments in infrastructure can be optimized more efficiently.

PROTASIS, as an integrator, delivers end-to-end multi-energy / utility solutions that incorporate various types of smart metering systems for electricity, gas, water, and heat including HES / AMI / MDM Systems.

Multi-Energy Solutions

Using a multi-energy system for collecting meter data for electricity and water meters, it has several advantages that benefit utilities, consumers, and the overall management of energy resources.

  • Centralized Data Management: a multi-energy system enables utilities to collect data through a single platform, simplifying the data collection process.
  • Cost Savings: by consolidating data collection, utilities can reduce the costs of maintaining multiple systems, including hardware, software, and services.
  • Enhanced Analytics and Insights: the integration of multi-energy data allows for deeper insights into overall resource usage.
  • Scalability: multi-energy solutions can be tailored to meet specific needs, making them suitable for different scales, from small businesses to large industrial operations and utilities.
  • Improved Decision Making for Utilities: in cases of emergencies, such as droughts or blackouts, utilities can more easily implement emergency measures by analyzing multi-energy consumption data.
  • Smart Grid and Smart City Integration: multi-energy systems represent a significant advancement in the development of smarter grids.
